How the MegaV server network actually operates.

How many servers does MegaV run?
Over 1,000 physical and virtual nodes across 50+ countries, auto-scaled based on regional demand. We publish a live capacity dashboard at status.megav.app.
What's the peak speed per server?
Each node is provisioned on 10 Gbps uplinks. In-app speed tests typically hit 900 Mbps+ on fibre connections — the bottleneck is almost always your own ISP, not our network.
Do you use virtual servers or bare metal?
A hybrid model. Core hubs in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Tokyo and New York run on bare metal with RAM-only storage. Secondary locations use virtualised but dedicated capacity — never shared beyond MegaV.
Can I pick a specific city?
Yes. The app lists cities individually — not just countries — so you can choose between New York and Los Angeles, Tokyo and Osaka, London and Manchester. Smart-routing also picks the fastest available node if you don't care.
What protocols run on your servers?
WireGuard is the default — fastest and most battery-friendly. VLESS Reality via Xray-core is enabled for tougher networks. IKEv2 and OpenVPN are available as fallback for legacy clients.
What about DDoS and overload protection?
Each node has per-IP rate limits, SYN cookies, automatic failover to the nearest backup node, and live bandwidth graphs visible in the app so you can switch to an uncongested server in one tap.
