Browser Fingerprint Test
How unique is your browser?
Websites can track you without cookies by combining dozens of browser properties into a unique fingerprint. This tool reveals exactly what they see.
Frequently asked questions
Everything about browser fingerprinting and online privacy.
What is browser fingerprinting?
Browser fingerprinting is a tracking technique that identifies your browser by combining dozens of properties — screen resolution, installed fonts, GPU, timezone, language and more. Unlike cookies, it works even in private browsing mode and cannot be easily cleared.
Is browser fingerprinting legal?
In most jurisdictions fingerprinting is legal but regulated. Under GDPR, it is considered personal data processing and requires user consent. Many ad-tech companies use it as a fallback when cookies are blocked.
Does a VPN stop browser fingerprinting?
A VPN alone does not prevent fingerprinting because most signals come from the browser itself, not the network. However, a VPN does mask your IP address and can obscure timezone and geolocation clues. For full protection, combine a VPN with a fingerprint-resistant browser.
How is the uniqueness score calculated?
We collect multiple browser properties, hash them together, and estimate entropy based on how many distinct values each property typically has in the general population. A higher score means your combination of values is more rare and therefore more trackable.
Can I make my fingerprint less unique?
Yes. Use a popular browser at default settings, disable unnecessary plugins, enable resistFingerprinting (Firefox), use standard screen resolution, and connect via a VPN. The goal is to look like as many other users as possible.
Does this tool store my fingerprint?
No. Everything runs entirely in your browser. No data is sent to any server, and nothing is stored. You can verify this by checking the network tab in your browser's developer tools while the test runs.
Reduce your fingerprint
Reduce your fingerprint with MegaV VPN
