Frequently asked questions

How private news reading works in MegaV.

Where do the articles come from?
MegaV aggregates public RSS and JSON feeds from 1000+ publishers worldwide. We fetch them on our servers, strip trackers and ad scripts, and serve you a clean version. No direct connection between you and the publisher's ad network.
Do publishers get traffic?
Yes. When you tap an article, opening the full story goes to the publisher's own page through the VPN — they get the visit, you keep your privacy. Offline reader mode uses a cached snapshot only.
Does MegaV see what I read?
No. Your reading history lives encrypted on-device with end-to-end encrypted sync to your other MegaV devices. We have no way to read it and store no server-side logs.
Can I add my own RSS feed?
Yes. Paste any RSS or Atom URL into the + button and it appears alongside the curated channels. Custom feeds sync across your devices.
What about paywalls?
MegaV respects paywalls — clicking through to a locked article sends you to the publisher's login page. Our reader mode only formats the public preview that ships in the RSS feed.
Is this available on all platforms?
Yes — iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Android TV. The news feed is part of the main MegaV VPN app, with encrypted favorites syncing via your MegaV account.
